Dear people,

Hello! This is my first time blogging, journalling and really expressing my thoughts onto something that isn’t another human being/pet/or other life form onto which I am projecting my views and ideas. So lucky you! I honestly have no idea how to blog, this website is most confusing at the moment – I literally just googled ‘free blog’ about 20 minutes ago and have spent a good 15 of those minutes trying to come up with a creative name (and I still end up with ‘Thinkable Thoughts’ . . . pathetic.) Anyhow, if you are interested in listening to me rant and ramble about topics including our OUTSTANDING-ly infuriating government here in the UK, environmental activism, study tips from a struggling sixth-former (I mean, who wouldn’t want those) and plenty more INVIGORATING things, then do subscribe (if, indeed, that is how this peculiar thing works) and stay tuned for irregular updates!

Introducing Myself . . .

Hi.

I have a feeling this is going to be an awful lot like my UCAS personal statement, but I’m hoping it won’t be as forced or cringe-worthy.

My name is Minnie, although most people that I meet for the first time insist on calling me Millie, Minerva or Winnie. Contrary to popular belief, it is not short for anything and I have grown to appreciate its uniqueness after a childhood of wishing I had a ‘cool’ and ‘mysterious’ name like Indigo or Astrid (any other How To Train Your Dragon fans here?)

If I’m completely honest, I don’t really know why I’m starting a blog or what it will specifically be about. I’m only now realising that it might have been smart to make some sort of mind map or plan about everything I want to include in this introduction. I’m just writing whatever pops into my head.

I’ve never liked writing in diaries because it just seemed so pointless and childish. I would come home from school, pick up a notebook – the cover of which was artistically decorated in the words ‘My Diary. Keep out or else!’ (very intimidating, I know) – and proceed to write what would have been a very boring account of my school day had I not decided that every fractionally interesting moment should be exaggerated and magnified on a huge scale. For example, one lunch time I was playing Crossy Road on my phone (living the high life) when the boy next to me grabbed it and ran off – it was a joke but at the time I was furious with him. So I chased him for a grand total of 10 seconds down the corridor until we were stopped by a teacher and given a lunch time detention for running inside, but it only lasted for the last 20 minutes of lunch. However, according to my diary entry on the 25th of October, 2014, I hurtled through the school at a million miles an hour (to the cheers of my friends) and detained the boy, retrieving my stolen treasure but cruelly receiving an unjust punishment from the authorities of my school, to which my friends responded to in uproar. I should think this blog won’t be like that, but no promises.

Went off on a bit of a tangent there. Other details about me:

  • I am a sixth form student here in England and I actually enjoy school
  • I come from a very creative and artistic family
  • I love nature, reading, martial arts (I would be a full fledged hippie if I smoked weed and wore trousers with elephants on them)
  • I have recently developed a strong interest in personal well being

That’s about it for now, I’ll let you know if I think about any other pressing facts about me.

Laters.
